Sekong is a province in the southeast of Laos. It is the least populous province of the country and also one of the poorest. Depending on the weather conditions, travelling here can be very difficult. In the north-east of Sekong, along the Vietnamese border, is the Xe Sap NBCA. During the last Indochinese war, the area suffered severe bombarding, because the Ho Chi Minh trail was running through here. Many remains of bombs can be found in this area.
